CAMPBELL OLSEN
Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Campbell Olsen has had a long career in Private Equity and operational management in the mining industry.
He has deep experience in international private equity practice and process having spent several years as an Investment Manager with Nomura Jafco and then General Manager (Australasia) with Advent International, a Boston- based multi-billion dollar international private equity company.

Campbell was responsible for the acquisition and restart of the Stawell Gold Mine, is a Director of North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM), South Stawell Gold, SUPL (Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory). He also manages on behalf of investors a number of international resource investments. He holds an Advisory Board Member role at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics. Campbell is actively involved in all investments made by Arete. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from Melbourne Business School.

HUGH MORGAN
Founder, Chairman Advisory Board

Mr Morgan has over 40 years experience in the global mining industry. He was CEO of WMC Limited for 13 years. Long term position at; Alcoa Australia, Alcoa Inc & Anglo American Advisory Board (Australasia) World Gold Council and former Reserve Bank Board of Directors. He is currently active in junior mining in Africa.

DOUG ROEM
Senior Advisor

Doug Roem is a seasoned private equity, turnaround and restructuring professional.
His Private Equity experience extends to investor, director and investee executive at CHAMP, Hastings and the Victor Smorgon Group. Doug has extensive international capability working with businesses in USA, SE Asia and China.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Melbourne University, a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from UNSW, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia, and a MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau. He is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a Member of the Turnaround Management Association.

PETER JOHNSON
Senior Advisor

Mr Johnson has over 30 years experience in the global mining industry. He is Head of Nickel Division of Glencore International and Minerals Council of Australia, Minera, WMC, Alcoa of Australia. He holds multiple board positions and advises all stages of the mining development process in multiple countries.

KEVIN LAM
Chief Operations Officer

Kevin Lam has a combined 30 years of work in Private Equity/Venture Capital, in Leveraged buyouts, Investment Banking in the United States and ASEAN. He started his investment banking career with Citicorp Investment Bank in New York where he worked with private equity sponsors in financing leveraged buyouts, leveraged recapitalisations and acquisitions.

His experience in Asia Pacific started with Nomura Jafco, the Private Equity & Venture Capital subsidiary of Jafco Ventures, Japan’s largest PE firm. His role at Nomura Jafco involved regional PE/VC investments, roll-up investments, public listing and divestment of portfolio companies. Post Jafco, Kevin co-founded IncuVest Pte Ltd., a Government of Singapore sponsored incubator/venture capital fund that specialized in early stage investments. He holds an MBA from University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California.

HILKO DUSSELJEE
Advisory Board / Investment Committee

Hilko has more than 30 years’ experience in the mining industry specialising in financial, commercial and strategic management. He has experience as CFO and Company Secretary for an ASX listed exploration company (and then gold producer) and has focused on helping companies streamline their business management processes.

GERALD WHITTLE
Whittle Consulting – CEO

Gerald Whittle FAusIMM has been the CEO of Whittle Consulting since 1999. He is a recognised thought leader mining optimisation, with over 6000 mining professionals having participated in the Whittle Consulting Integrated Strategic Planning seminars.

His knowledge sheds new light on the unique challenges of business planning and optimisation for the minerals industry. Gerald is an economist, management accountant, financial controller, finance director with over 40 years of international business experience in business planning, analysis and change management.

Gerald leads the Whittle Consulting team who conduct Strategic Assessments and Enterprise Optimisation studies for a range of major, midcap and junior mining companies. These studies have spanned almost all commodities, including pits and/ or underground mining, complex minerals processing streams and marketing channels.

STEWART HOWE
Whittle Consulting – Chairman (Non-Executive)

Stewart has 40 years’ experience in the global resources industry including the last 18 years in mining. Stewart spent 6 years as Chief Development Officer of Zinifex Limited, where he directed the spin- off of Zinifex’s smelters to create Nyrstar N.V. and restarted development of Dugald River Mine now owned by MMG.

During the past 12 years Mr Howe has provided advisory roles to boards, private equity and financiers related to restructuring and acquisition of mining assets in base metals and bulk commodities. Mr Howe is an experienced director, chairing the board of Whittle Consulting and serves on the boards of ASX listed Galena Mining Limited and Kaiser Reef Limited.
